Description

These Whipped Shortbread Cookies are melt-in-your-mouth delicious! With a rich, buttery flavor and a soft texture, they’re perfect for holidays, tea time, or as an easy homemade treat. Optional sprinkles or cherries add a festive touch, making them even more delightful.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: Sprinkles or colored sugar for decoration

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the flour, cornstarch, and vanilla extract to the mixture, and continue beating until fully combined. The dough will be soft and creamy.
  • Use a piping bag or spoon to form dough into small mounds or shapes on the baking sheet. Optionally, top with sprinkles or colored sugar.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For the best texture, be sure to beat the butter and sugar mixture well to incorporate air, creating a light and fluffy cookie.
  • These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
