  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 large green peppers, chopped
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup long grain rice (uncooked)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add the minced garlic, chopped onion, and chopped green peppers to the skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes (with juice), tomato sauce, beef broth, uncooked rice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  • Once the mixture is well combined, transfer it to a greased 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  • Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the mixture is bubbling.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
