Serve them with your favorite garnishes for an extra burst of flavor!

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Wings:

    • 2 pounds chicken wings (split into flats and drumettes)
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • ½ teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

For the Sweet and Spicy Glaze:

    • ¼ cup honey
    • ¼ cup brown sugar
    • ¼ cup hot sauce (choose your favorite brand for desired heat)
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
    • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

    Optional Garnishes:

    • Sliced green onions
    • Sesame seeds
    • Chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  • Prepare the Wings:

    • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
    • In a large bowl, toss the wings with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until evenly coated.
  • Bake the Wings:

    • Place the seasoned wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are crispy and golden.
  • Make the Sweet and Spicy Glaze:

    • While the wings are baking, combine honey, brown sugar, hot sauce, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and cayenne pepper (if using) in a small saucepan.
    • Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the glaze thickens slightly (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat.
  • Coat the Wings:

    • Once the wings are baked, remove them from the oven. Place the wings in a large bowl and pour the sweet and spicy glaze over the wings. Toss the wings until they are well coated.
  • Serve:

    • Garnish the wings with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and chopped fresh cilantro if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust the heat level of the glaze by choosing a milder or hotter hot sauce and adding more cayenne pepper if you prefer extra heat.
  • For a crispy texture, you can broil the wings for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking.
  • If you prefer to grill the wings, cook them on medium heat until crispy and then toss in the glaze.
