Ingredients
Scale
For the Filling:
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup strawberry jam
For the Crumble Topping:
- 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
Optional Substitutions:
- For a dairy-free version, substitute the cream cheese with a plant-based alternative like cashew cream cheese.
- Swap the strawberry jam for other fruit jams like raspberry or blueberry to switch up the flavor.
- To make it gluten-free, use gluten-free puff pastry.
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Prepare the Filling:
- In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Add the strawberry jam to the cream cheese mixture and stir until well incorporated.
- Prepare the Crumble Topping:
- In a separate bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, cinnamon, and granulated sugar. Stir until the crumbs are coated and form a crumbly texture.
- Assemble the Rolls:
- Unfold the puff pastry sheet on a clean surface. If it’s large, cut it in half to make smaller rolls.
- Spread the cream cheese and strawberry jam filling evenly over the puff pastry sheet(s).
- Roll up the puff pastry tightly, starting from one edge.
- Slice the rolled-up pastry into 1-inch wide pieces and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping generously over the rolls.
- Bake the Rolls:
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden and the topping is slightly crispy.
- Cool and Serve:
- Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. They can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- You can make these rolls ahead of time and refrigerate them before baking. Just bake them when you’re ready to serve.
- Feel free to customize the fruit jam to your liking – raspberry or blueberry work wonderfully as well!
