- 1 box strawberry cake mix
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Spread sliced strawberries evenly on the bottom of the dish.
- In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and melted butter to the cream cheese and mix until well combined.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the strawberries.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the cream cheese layer.
- Top with chopped pecans.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute fresh strawberries with frozen strawberries, though fresh gives a better texture.
- If you don’t have pecans, walnuts or almonds can also work well in this recipe.
