  • Author: Mary
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This creamy ground beef pasta dish is a comforting, one-pan meal made with hearty ground beef, pasta, and a flavorful tomato-based sauce. The addition of heavy cream and Parmesan creates a rich, creamy sauce that’s sure to satisfy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta (penne, rotini, or elbow macaroni)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the Ground Beef:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

  • Add Aromatics and Seasonings:
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened. Stir in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

  • Simmer with Broth and Tomatoes:
Pour in the beef broth and stir in the drained diced tomatoes. Simmer for 3-4 minutes to combine the flavors.

  • Add the Pasta:
Stir in the uncooked pasta, ensuring it is fully submerged in the liquid. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the skillet, and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add more broth or water if needed to keep the pasta from sticking.

  • Make It Creamy:
Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.

  • Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can use any type of short pasta (penne, rotini, elbow macaroni) for this dish.
  • If you prefer a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes when adding the seasonings.
  • For extra creaminess, you can increase the amount of heavy cream.
