- 24 Oreo cookies
- 3 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened

Instructions
- Prepare the red velvet cake mix according to the package instructions (typically adding eggs, oil, and water).
- Crush 16 Oreo cookies and mix them into the prepared cake batter.
- Pour the batter into a greased springform pan and bake according to the package instructions (usually 30-35 minutes at 350°F or 175°C).
- While the cake is cooling, in a separate bowl, mix together the cream cheese, remaining 8 Oreo cookies (crushed), and sugar (if using), until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled red velvet cake.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
