- Prepare the Warm Water: If using, add the sugar to the warm water and let it sit for a few minutes until dissolved.
- Make the Dough: Gradually add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Let the Dough Rise: Form the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl. Cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch the Dough Down: After the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air.
- Divide the Dough: If making two pizzas, divide the dough into two equal portions.
- Roll the Dough: Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness, then transfer it to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
