Description
This Low-Carb Chocolate Cottage Cheese Mousse is a creamy and indulgent dessert that’s surprisingly easy to make. With just a few ingredients, this guilt-free treat combines the smooth texture of cottage cheese with rich cocoa and sweetener for a low-carb, high-protein dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup cottage cheese (preferably full-fat for creaminess)
- 1–2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (adjust to taste)
- 1–2 tsp powdered sweetener of choice (such as erythritol or monk fruit)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: 1-2 tbsp melted dark chocolate for extra richness
Instructions
- Blend the ingredients: In a blender or food processor, combine the cottage cheese, cocoa powder, powdered sweetener, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Adjust sweetness and cocoa: Taste the mousse and adjust the sweetness or cocoa powder to your preference. If you prefer a richer flavor, add the melted dark chocolate and blend again.
- Chill: Transfer the mousse to serving bowls and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Serve: Garnish with additional chocolate shavings, berries, or a dollop of whipped cream (optional) before serving.
Notes
- For a smoother texture, you can strain the cottage cheese before blending to remove any lumps.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of sweetener and cocoa powder based on your taste preferences.
- You can make this mousse ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days.
