A twist on the classic sloppy joe, this recipe uses garlic bread as the base, topped with a savory combination of ground beef, marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese. Perfect for a quick, delicious meal!

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hoagie buns, sliced in half
- 8 slices mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned.
- Add diced onion and bell pepper, cooking until vegetables are softened.
- Stir in marinara sauce, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Preheat broiler. Place hoagie bun halves on a baking sheet.
- Spoon meat mixture onto each bun half and top with a slice of mozzarella cheese.
- Broil for 2-3 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- You can use other types of cheese if mozzarella isn’t available.
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes or hot sauce to the meat mixture.
