Description

A twist on the classic sloppy joe, this recipe uses garlic bread as the base, topped with a savory combination of ground beef, marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese. Perfect for a quick, delicious meal!


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie buns, sliced in half
  • 8 slices mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned.
  • Add diced onion and bell pepper, cooking until vegetables are softened.
  • Stir in marinara sauce, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Preheat broiler. Place hoagie bun halves on a baking sheet.
  • Spoon meat mixture onto each bun half and top with a slice of mozzarella cheese.
  • Broil for 2-3 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use other types of cheese if mozzarella isn’t available.
