Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground sausage (spicy or mild)
- 8 oz (226g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup (240ml) sour cream
- 1 packet (1 oz/28g) ranch seasoning mix
- 1 cup (100g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup (50g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup (50g) diced tomatoes (optional)
- 1/4 cup (30g) diced green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the sausage: In a large skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Break it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
- Make the dip base: Add the softened cream cheese and sour cream to the skillet with the cooked sausage. Stir well until the cream cheese is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Add the ranch seasoning: Stir in the ranch seasoning mix until it’s evenly combined with the sausage mixture.
- Add the cheese: Reduce the heat to low and add the shredded cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese. Stir until the cheeses melt and the dip becomes creamy.
- Optional toppings: If using, stir in the diced tomatoes. Garnish with diced green onions before serving.
- Serve: Serve hot with chips, crackers, or fresh veggies for dipping.
Notes
- For an extra kick, you can add some diced jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce to the dip.
- You can make this dip ahead of time and reheat it when ready to serve.
- If you prefer a milder dip, opt for mild sausage and skip the tomatoes or any spicy ingredients.
