Description
These flavorful chicken gyros are made with marinated grilled chicken, fresh vegetables, and creamy tzatziki sauce, all wrapped in warm pita bread. A delicious and satisfying Mediterranean-inspired dish perfect for lunch or dinner!

- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita bread rounds
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup diced cucumbers
- 1/2 cup diced red onions
- Tzatziki sauce for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Add chicken breasts to the bowl and toss to coat. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Grill chicken for 6-7 minutes per side or until cooked through.
- Let chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing into thin strips.
- Warm pita bread on the grill for 1-2 minutes per side.
- Assemble gyros by placing chicken strips, tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onions on pita bread. Drizzle with tzatziki sauce.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- If you don’t have a grill, you can cook the chicken on a stovetop grill pan or in a skillet.
- Add some feta cheese or olives for extra Mediterranean flavor.
- You can also serve with a side of Greek salad for a more complete meal.
