- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup salted caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the batter.
- Drop spoonfuls of the remaining batter on top of the caramel.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool before slicing into bars.
Notes
- For an extra touch, sprinkle a little sea salt on top of the bars before baking for more of a salted caramel flavor.
- You can use store-bought or homemade salted caramel sauce for this recipe.
- Make sure to let the bars cool completely before cutting to get neat slices.
