Description
This Easy Chocolate Ganache is a simple, rich, and silky chocolate sauce made with just two ingredients: chocolate chips and heavy cream. It’s the perfect topping for cakes, cupcakes, pastries, or ice cream, or it can be used as a filling or glaze for your favorite desserts.
Ingredients
-
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
-
1 cup heavy cream
Instructions
-
Heat the Cream:
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Do not let it come to a full boil. -
Pour Over Chocolate Chips:
Place the semisweet chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Once the cream is hot, pour it over the chocolate chips. Let it sit for 1-2 minutes to soften the chocolate. -
Stir to Combine:
After letting the cream sit with the chocolate, gently stir the mixture with a spatula or whisk until smooth and glossy. -
Cool and Use:
Allow the ganache to cool for a few minutes before using it as a topping or filling. If you want a thicker ganache for spreading, let it cool longer; for a thinner ganache, use it while still warm.
Notes
-
You can adjust the ratio of cream to chocolate if you want a thicker or thinner ganache. For a thicker ganache, use more chocolate, and for a thinner one, use more cream.
-
If you prefer a sweeter ganache, use milk chocolate chips instead of semisweet chocolate.
-
This ganache can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. To reuse, gently reheat it in the microwave or over a double boiler.
