- 55g soft brown sugar
- 125g golden syrup
- 110g porridge oats
- 110g rolled oats
- 80g chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 160°C (fan), 180°C (conventional), or 320°F (convection), 356°F (standard).
- Prepare the tin: Line a 20 cm x 20 cm (8-inch x 8-inch) baking tin with baking paper.
- Melt the butter mixture: In a saucepan, melt the butter, soft brown sugar, and golden syrup over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Boil the mixture: Once the mixture has melted, bring it to a gentle boil and let it boil for about 30 seconds, then remove from heat.
- Mix in the oats: Stir in the porridge oats and rolled oats, mixing until everything is well combined.
- Transfer to the tin: Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and press it down firmly.
- Add chocolate chips: Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top, pressing them down lightly into the mixture.
- Bake: Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden.
- Cool: Let the flapjacks cool in the tin for 10 minutes before marking pieces with a knife. Allow them to cool completely, then cut into squares.
- Store: Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

- For a richer chocolate flavor, you can use dark chocolate chips.
