Crunch Wraps Recipe

  • Author: Mary
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

These Crunch Wraps are a fun, customizable twist on traditional tacos, packed with seasoned beef, nacho cheese sauce, crisp tostada shells, and fresh toppings. Fried until golden and crispy, they offer the perfect balance of textures in every bite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 (1-ounce) package of taco seasoning
  • 4 large (burrito-sized) tortillas
  • 3/4 cup nacho cheese sauce (warmed)
  • 4 tostada shells
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup taco sauce
  • 4 small (taco-sized) tortillas
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend cheese)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and follow the package instructions, adding water as required. Set the beef mixture aside.
  • Warm the nacho cheese sauce in a separate pan or microwave.
  • Place the large tortillas flat on a clean surface. In the center of each, layer a few spoonfuls of the seasoned beef, followed by a drizzle of warm nacho cheese sauce.
  • Place a tostada shell on top of the cheese sauce, then spread a layer of sour cream on the tostada. Add shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, taco sauce, and shredded cheddar cheese on top of the sour cream.
  • Top each large tortilla with a small (taco-sized) tortilla, then carefully fold the edges of the large tortilla over the smaller one, creating a hexagon-shaped wrap. Make sure the edges are tightly folded to hold the filling in place.
  • Heat a bit of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place each crunch wrap seam-side down in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. You may need to press down gently to ensure even browning.
  • Remove from the skillet and let cool slightly before serving. Slice in half and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • Add extra toppings like jalapeños, olives, or guacamole for more flavor.
  • For a vegetarian version, use black beans or refried beans instead of the ground beef.
  • For a crispier crunch, use more oil and cook the wraps longer on each side.
