- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Place chicken thighs in the crockpot.
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, bourbon, ketchup, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Pour the sauce over the chicken.
- Cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water. Stir the mixture into the crockpot during the last 30 minutes of cooking to thicken the sauce.
- Serve over rice and garnish with chopped green onions.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes for desired spiciness.
- If you prefer a stronger bourbon flavor, you can increase the amount of bourbon slightly.
