  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup raisins (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, butter, sugar, rice, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Once it begins to boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer gently, uncovered, for 30-35 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent the rice from sticking.
  • When the rice is tender and the pudding has thickened, add the ground cinnamon and vanilla extract, stirring to combine.
  • If you are using raisins, stir them into the pudding at this point.
  • For extra creaminess, stir in the heavy cream and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let the pudding cool slightly. If the pudding becomes too thick, you can add a little more milk to reach your desired consistency.
  • Serve warm or chilled, and enjoy!

Notes

  • This rice pudding thickens as it cools, so if you prefer a thinner consistency, add more milk when serving.
