Description

Chocolate and Coffee Custard Doughnuts are the ultimate indulgence for chocolate and coffee lovers. Soft, fluffy doughnuts with a rich cocoa flavor are perfectly complemented by the deep taste of coffee. Whether you’re starting your morning or treating yourself to a sweet snack, these baked doughnuts will surely satisfy your cravings with their irresistible aroma and flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a doughnut pan.
  • Mix the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Combine the wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix together the milk, brewed coffee, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients: Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Fill the doughnut pan: Pour the batter into the greased doughnut pan, filling each cavity about halfway.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool slightly: Allow the doughnuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before carefully removing them.

Notes

  • These doughnuts are baked, not fried, so they’re a healthier alternative without sacrificing flavor.
  • For extra indulgence, you can drizzle melted chocolate or a simple glaze over the cooled doughnuts.
  • Feel free to adjust the coffee amount depending on how strong you’d like the coffee flavor to be. You can even substitute the coffee with more milk for a less intense taste.
  • If you don’t have a doughnut pan, you can also bake the batter in a muffin tin for doughnut holes or muffins.
