Chinese Pepper Steak is a savory stir-fry featuring tender flank steak, crisp bell peppers, and onions, all coated in a flavorful soy sauce-based sauce. Quick and easy to make, it’s the perfect dish to serve over rice for a satisfying and delicious meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat.
  • Add sliced flank steak and cook until browned.
  • Add garlic, bell peppers, and onion. Cook until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  • Pour in the soy sauce mixture and stir until thickened.
  • Serve hot over rice.

Notes

  • You can add additional vegetables like snap peas or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or some chopped chili peppers.
  • This dish can also be served with noodles instead of rice if you prefer.
