A delicious twist on classic Salisbury steak, these cheesy meatballs are tender and flavorful, smothered in a rich mozzarella and beef broth gravy. Perfect for dinner and sure to please the whole family!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
  • Meanwhile, in a skillet, bring beef broth to a simmer. In a small bowl, whisk cornstarch with a little bit of water to create a slurry. Slowly whisk the slurry into the simmering broth until thickened.
  • Add mozzarella cheese to the thickened broth and stir until melted.
  • Place the cooked meatballs in the skillet and coat them with the cheesy sauce.
  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • You can substitute the mozzarella with cheddar cheese for a different flavor.
  • Make sure the meatballs are cooked through (use a meat thermometer for accuracy, aiming for 160°F internal temperature).
  • Garnish with additional cheese or herbs if desired.
