Description

This Berry Breakfast Crisp is a vibrant and delicious way to start your day! A mix of fresh strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries is topped with a crunchy, sweet oat-almond topping, making it the perfect balance of fruity freshness and satisfying texture. It’s easy to make, naturally sweetened, and a wonderful breakfast or brunch option.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Topping:
    • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
    • ⅓ cup blanched almond flour
    • ⅓ cup sliced almonds
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
    • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • Filling:
    • 1 pound strawberries, halved or sliced
    • 6 oz each of blackberries and blueberries (about 2½ cups total)
    • Finely grated zest of half an orange
    • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
    • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
    • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, combine the oats, almond flour, sliced almonds, and salt. Stir in the melted butter and maple syrup until well combined. Set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Add the orange zest, orange juice, cornstarch, and maple syrup. Toss gently to coat the berries evenly.
  • Transfer the berry mixture to a baking dish (9×9-inch recommended) and spread it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the oat-almond topping evenly over the berries.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the berry filling is bubbling.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • This crisp is best served warm, but can be enjoyed cold as well.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute the butter with coconut oil or a dairy-free butter alternative.
  • You can add a scoop of yogurt or a drizzle of cream on top for extra richness.
